New Search Interface - American National Biography (ANB) & Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (ODNB)

The search platform for the two standard Oxford biographical sources, American National Biography and Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, has changed. I wanted to let you know now in case you want to explore during winter break.

Both are accessible through the Research Databases list as well as the three English & American Literature Subject Guides and the Film & Television Studies Subject Guide.
Tips:
To see a complete list of entries in both resources.......
1. Put your cursor in the search box at the top and press enter. You'll get a complete list of entries.
2. Click "Occupations" (ANB) and "Occupations" or "Religious Affiliation" (ODNB) and then within the list, click "Browse All."
Depending upon the resource, there are ways to filter your search results by image, sex, feature essay, etc. When you are viewing a biographical essay, scroll down the left screen to get to the "See Also" links, such as "More on this Topic" to view external resources available (for example, related entries in Oxford Companion to United States History).

These resources now favor the broad search over the refined/focused search. This is the "discovery tool" effect.   Please let me know if you have any questions about either of these databases.
